Summer time is all about the bright & bold colours, and shedding off those extra layers of clothes! I love this year's trend for colourful garments and accessories! My personal favourite clothing item this summer is definitely my red high-waisted scalloped shorts i got from urban outfitters > u< I love the colour, how the top is also scalloped, the comfy-ness, and also the fact that they aren't ultra short.Inspired by the scallop pattern from my fav shorts and the bold contrasting colours of the summer season, i made this tutorial for scallop nails. And the scallops are facing down, but you can edit the tutorial for the scalloped pattern to go the other way... i just like it more this way ;)
Haha i apologize for the distracting yellow numbers you see in the corners of all the following pictures. We forgot to switch the camera's setting "> _>
- 2 nail polish colours that contrast each other (but they don't have to be... it's really up to you)
- base coat
- top coat
- a dotting tool (or i use to use the back of a pin, the ones that have the round thing on the back of it... excuse my poor explanation skills)

this is actually double ended, but you need one that makes a big dot
From left to right, sally hansen extreme wear sun kissed, china glaze re-fresh mint, nail life ridge filler, seche vite top coat
I did this on my friend Caitlyn's nails and she prefers using a ridge filler so... yea...
Next paint on one your nail polish in the colour you want the scallop pattern in. This colour will also be the main colour on your nail.
I chose the lighter colour of the two.
the edge does NOT need to be perfect, will be covering it anyways ;)
i fit 4 dots on Caitlyn's nails excluding the pinky where i fit 3 and thumb where i fit 5, if you want to know the size of the dots.
This is optional but with a smaller dotting tool or toothpick, take some of the contrasting colour and add a dot where the scallop pattern bumps up (errr.... look at the picture if you don't know what i mean... xP)
I find it easier to pour a little bit of polish onto something else the dip into that
dot . dot . dot . o uo
